Come Follow Me 43: Doctrine and Covenants 121-123

Come, Follow Me Lesson 43: Doctrine and Covenants 121-123

Introduction:

How does it make you feel to know that God will be with His faithful saints forever and ever (see D&C 121:1, 33; 122:9)?

D&C 121

How can we access the powers of heaven (see D&C 121:45-46)?

How can we use our influence for good (see D&C 121:41-43)?

Have you ever felt abandoned like Joseph did (See D&C 121:1-6)?

Do you feel the Savior’s love for you when you read His responses to Joseph’s petition (see D&C 121:7-10)?

D&C 122

How does it make you feel to know that Jesus knows your suffering? He’s been there. He suffered it all for you beforehand, so that He can help and succor you.

Why is it important for us to understand that Jesus descended below all things?

What have you learned about Joseph? What are you learning about yourself?

Do you understand that the bad things that happen around you and to you can work together for your good and God’s glory?

Do you understand that Jesus suffered everything for you already, so you can turn to Him and He will stretch out His arm and help pull you through it all?

D&C 123

Does the Lord expect us to do the things that we can do for ourselves? Does he expect us to defend our honor and our position? To what extent?

If we can deal with the frustration of our everyday world with kindness, and grace, and honor, what is the Lord’s promise to us (see D&C 123:17)?

What if he does not reveal His arm in the way we desire, demand, or expect? Does that mean that His arm has not been revealed? What blessings have you received that are unexpected, when you’ve done everything that lies in your power?

What blessings do you receive when you help others find the truth of the gospel (see vs. 12)?

What is the difference between demanding people to see your point of view and inviting them to learn the gospel?

How can we help people know where to find the truth?
