  Come, Follow Me Lesson 6: Doctrine and Covenants 10-11 D&C 10 When have you lost something important, and you had to let it go and move on? How has the Lord compensated you? It’s interesting that Satan tried to thwart God’s work by having the manuscript stolen and the words changed; but God had a plan to thwart Satan’s work way ahead of time and to compensate for what was lost. God had inspired Nephi to create a second record that covered the same time period as that first record. Then Mormon was also inspired to include both accounts, even though he did not understand why. He said “for a wise purpose” known to the Lord. (Mormon 1:3-7) The Lord also told Joseph and us that this second record would be of great benefit to us, because it would give “greater views upon the gospel” (D&C 10:45).
