Come Follow Me: Doctrine and Covenants 67
Come, Follow Me Lesson 27: Doctrine and Covenants 71-75
Intro: Quote by Elder Quentin L Cook: “The influence of the Holy Ghost most often accompanies individual scripture study and prayer in the home”.
Have you faced critics and/or enemies because of your beliefs?
Because Ezra Booth didn’t receive what he expected, he murmured, fell out of favor with the Lord, and apostatized. He set out to discredit the Lord’s prophet and His church, by supplying a series of letters to an Ohio newspaper.
The heading to sec 71 tells us that this brought about “unfriendly feelings….against the Church.”
What should we as believers do when something like this happens?
What did the Lord tell His disciples to do in D&C 71:1? (Open your mouths and declare the gospel according to what the Spirit prompts you to teach.)
The Lord will always have critics. How does the Lord defend us when we should to stand with Him?
(see vs. 9-10)
Why should we keep the Lord’s commandments? (See vs. 10)
