Come Follow Me 25: Doctrine and Covenants 64-66
Come, Follow Me Lesson 25: Doctrine and Covenants 62-66
Great things come from small efforts.
We are required to forgive everyone. (D&C 64:10)
Are we patient and diligent in building Zion? (vs. 33) How do we avoid becoming weary in well-doing?
How does bickering and criticism hinder our own progress and hurt the Lord’s Church. Pride separates us and humility unifies us.
Do we have trouble forgiving the Lord’s anointed like some of the early saints did?
How do you feel when the Lord forgives you and you feel His acceptance?
How did it make you feel when you chose to forgive someone else?
Do you recognize the mercy the Lord has extended to you by inviting you to be a member of His Church? (64:4)
What does it mean to seek occasion against someone?
Why do we sometimes feel it’s necessary to prove we are right?
How is it better to leave the judgment in the Lord’s hands?
How are we afflicted when we don’t forgive others?
If ye believe me, ye will labor while it is called today. (vs 25) Now it is called today. (vs 23)
How do we ensure that we do not become weary in well-doing? How do we obtain and serve with a heart and a willing mind? (vs 34) Focus, Love and Charity.
What small things can we do each day to lay the foundation of a great work? (vs 33)
How has Zion—or the Lord’s Church—been like an ensign to you? And to others? The church is a cause that we can rally around. That’s what the ensign is.
(vs 37) Church like a judge sitting on a hill.
Can we help the
Church be an Ensign here in San Bernardino? How?
(see
also vs 41-43)
D&C 65
John prepared the way of the Lord.
John was an Elias. How are we Eliases in our own day?
D&C 66
William McLellin had his ankle healed through a blessing from the prophet. He wanted to test to see if Joseph really were a prophet, so he prayed to the Lord to have Joseph reveal answers to five questions he took before the Lord. The Lord answered through Joseph in this section. Though William fell away from the Church, he held firm to his witness of this experience.
Faith needs to proceed the miracles in order for us to remain faithful and true. Look to your own patriarchal blessing for answers and direction. At the time that William’s questions were answered, he felt joy and new he’d found a prophet of God.
Being cumbered is the feeling we get when we become weary in well doing. We really can’t decided when enough’s enough. We need to be patient in the Lord’s timing.
