Come, Follow Me Lesson 24: Doctrine and Covenants 63
In D&C 63:64 we are learn “That which comes from above is sacred.” Why should we use care when we speak about sacred things? Why is it important to follow the Spirit when we share sacred things?
Is the building up of Zion the most important temporal object in your view?
Prophets have always faced hard criticism. Joseph Smith was no exception. Why do you thing that is?
(It isn’t always an easy thing to put faith in something we don’t completely understand or can’t see as beneficial.)
Ezra Booth was disappointed in the land of Zion, and he made it known. How does murmuring, contention, and dissension harm both the individual and the church? Booth ended up apostatizing. He became bitter, agnostic and lost the light that he had. He left Christianity altogether.
On the other hand, Isaac Morely changed his bleak outlook. He sold his farm, moved back to Missouri. He was preserved through is doubs and later became a Bishop and a Patriarch.
Do we have faith yet to behold and build Zion?
Just
like back then, it might look bleak, it might not be beautiful yet.
But are we following the prophet and striving to hear the Lord’s
voice? Are we inviting others to Come unto Christ and working to
gather Israel?
What is the difference between looking for signs as a way to
increase our faith, or saying that we will believe if we are given a
sign, and
Working on having a believing heart and hoping for
signs to bless the lives of others?
The lesson gives us a list of scriptures that show that miracles happen after we have faith in Jesus Christ and that through faith in Jesus Christ, the Father will give us those things we ask for?
Matthew 16:1–4; John 12:37; Mormon 9:10–21; Ether 12:12, 18.
What should we do in order to have the Spirit with us?

32 Be righteous) (vs 1 hearkn, open hearts, give ear, listen, hear
word and will of the Lord) (vs 5 Obey His voice by choice) (vs 6 Take
heed, fear, tremble, stop murmuring. Be still and know He is God, by
choice) (vs 34 the Lord will be with His Saints. He’ll come down in
heaven to be with us and destroy the wicked)
Are there spiritual and temporal directions that the Lord is giving you? (vs. 24-46)
We will only escape the calamities of this day by keeping the commandments, being righteous, and having faith in Jesus Christ. We need to take upon ourselves the armor of God; and we need to warn and invite our neighbors.
We are blessed when we work to establish Zion (vs. 47)
