Come, Follow Me Lesson 20: Doctrine and Covenants 49-50 

That which is of God is Light!

Jesus is our Good Shepard (D&C 50:44) He lovingly leads us to the safety of His doctrine.

He is in our midst.

To follow Jesus, we have to let go of incorrect ideas and traditions. (See D&C 50:2) It’s easy to see those in other people and other cultures, but we need to look inwards.

How can we avoid false spirits.

The Lord teaches us how we can discern true manifestations. We shouldn’t believe that darkness can replace light. (See D&C 50:15)

I’m glad that the Good Shepherd is patient with us, His little children. (See D&C 50:40)

Come, Follow Me Lesson 5: Doctrine and Covenants 6-9   I am impressed with Oliver Cowdery’s thirst for truth, not just for secular knowledge. That’s an admirable trait to have. Do I want to know the truth, or do I just want others to follow my train of thought? Do I want to share truth? Why does sharing truth have to be done by invitation, and not by force?
