How can prayer open new opportunities to us?

How can we develop the faith to ask the Lord questions and receive answers?

How do you think Joseph and Oliver felt to hear John the Baptist call them his fellow servants?

How does it make you feel to be a fellow servant in the work of the Lord?

How do you think that Joseph Knight’s experience of having Joseph Smith work for him influenced Joseph Knight to believe in Joseph Smith’s testimony?

Both Joseph and Polly Knight wanted to be part of the great work of the restored gospel and remained faithful to the end.

How can the love and dedication of one missionary or one member influence investigators and converts throughout their lives?

Joseph Knight wanted to help with the work. Do you have desires to bring forth and establish Zion too? Are you keeping the commandments? Are you ministering? Do you give heed with all your might? (D&C 12: 6-9)

What qualities do we need to help with the cause of Zion? Humility, love, faith, hope, charity, temperance, and trustworthiness.

Have we had angels speak to us? Can you think of any times?

2 Nephi 32:2-3: Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost..the words of Christ (missionaries, messengers)

Moroni 7:29-32: Angels appear to some; message of repentance to one can help residue to also develop faith from their testimony.

Robby was a personal angel sent to our family. There was a lot of healing, understanding, repentance and growth that happened because of the message he and the Spirit delivered in his short time here on earth. Twenty-seven years ago today, we had his funeral. In a coming day, we’ll witness his resurrection.

What promises are given to those who receive the Aaronic and the Melchizedek Priesthoods? (D&C 84:31-34): If faithful in obtaining these two priesthoods and magnifying our callings, we will become sanctified, our bodies will be renewed, we’ll become the sons and daughters of Moses and Aaron and the seed of Abraham, and Christ’s Church, and the elect of God.

How important are priesthood ordinances and covenants?

Sister Carole M. Stephens, former counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, taught: “Priesthood ordinances and covenants provide access to the fulness of the blessings promised to us by God, which are made possible by the Savior’s Atonement. They arm sons and daughters of God with power, God’s power, and provide us with the opportunity to receive eternal life” (“Do We Know What We Have?” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2013, 12

What inspired Joseph and Oliver to inquire about baptism? (JSH 1:66-75)

Robby. Christine’s birth and the healing and ministering that brought to our family. Increased joy and kindness.

What effect did the Holy Ghost have on Joseph and Oliver? (They straightway received the Spirit when they were baptized and began to prophecy.)

How has the Spirit helped our family to understand the scriptures and to rejoice in the Lord?

Come, Follow Me Lesson 5: Doctrine and Covenants 6-9   I am impressed with Oliver Cowdery’s thirst for truth, not just for secular knowledge. That’s an admirable trait to have. Do I want to know the truth, or do I just want others to follow my train of thought? Do I want to share truth? Why does sharing truth have to be done by invitation, and not by force? When Oliver asked the Smith family concerning their son Joseph, the plates, and the heavenly visitations, this was something he wanted to believe. Joseph Sr. and Lucy told Oliver to ask God in prayer. Are answers received through prayer any less valid that conclusions drawn in labs?
